To check operation of the home sensor for Up and Down movements
There is a magnet on the machine (top left) and a magnet sensor (top right) on the rear of the waist frame. What happens here is that when the magnet gets close to the sensor, it activates it. As you move the arm up and down, the magnet gets close to and passes over the sensor activating it. You can tell when this happens from a light on the board behind the plastic encoder cover (bottom).
When activated, this green light will go off on that board:
For proper function, 3 steps that have to happen.
1st - the rear of the arm has to be above the activation point of the sensor. This is when the arm is not fully up. Some images below showing where the position of the magnet + sensor are and that there is no activation of the sensor.
2nd - the front of the arm is up high enough that the back end passes the sensor and activates the sensor. Images below showing this.
3rd - the front of the arm is fully upright and the back end passes the sensor de-activating it.
If any of these steps are not functioning properly, reach out to the Field Operations team for help to diagnose.
